Mill Mountain Zoo

The Mill Mountain Zoo in Roanoke, Virginia has a miniature train. Many animals can be seen from the train. The children love to wave at the animals as they travel by. They also see the other zoo visitors and wave at them too. Click on the small map at the left to see a larger view. (This map may take a while to load the first time!) Look for the train station at the bottom of the map. You can see the train ready to go.

Directions to the Mill Mountain Zoo

Take I-581 southbound through Roanoke.
I-581 becomes Highway 220 at Elm Street.
Continue to the Blue Ridge Parkway Exit.
Go North on the Parkway 1/4 mile.
There is a sign for the Mill Mountain Park and Zoo.
Turn Left onto the Parkway Spur. Go 3 miles.
Turn Left at the Mill Mountain Park sign.
The Zoo is located at the end of the parking lot past The Discovery Center.
There is a short walk through the Mill Mountain Garden Club's Flower Garden.
