Russian Hand-Carved Santas.
|
All of the Santas are unique and one-of-a-kind. They are hand-carved and hand-painted in Russia and signed by the artist. These Santas embody the worldwide spirit of Santa Claus. The Feast of Saint Nicholas has been observed on December 6 for centuries and Saint Nicholas is known as Father Christmas. After the communist revolution, the celebration of the feast was prohibited and Saint Nicholas was transformed into Ded Moroz or Grandfather Frost. He was the Russian Spirit of Winter who brings gifts to children on Christmas Day. Each beautiful piece is perfect for year-round decor. Please click on the picture to enlarge it.
